Release 0.1.6 of Project Utgard (OPC Interface)

February 12th, 2007 by jens

After lots of test and several minor fixes we finally have a release 0.1.6 of the OPC library. The most notable changes are a new version of J-Interop (thanks to Vikram!) which solves some issues with the JIVariant encoding/decoding and some connection issues. Also the helper library “openscada_opc_lib” has some new functionality that helps you a little bit.

For more information and the download link see the release page.

The strange behavior of boolean values mentioned in the FAQ is solved with this new version of J-Interop. Also the limitations (like array of VT_R8) that where present are solved with the new version.

Also the helper library gained some new features. Most important the “AutoReconnectController” class which handles a server connection for you. “OPCSample6″ shows you how to use it. Basically it remembers the state that you requested from the server and will adjust the server to that. Once you request a connection it will keep it up and will issue a re-connect one the connection fails.
