Security is a core issue to all SCADA systems. OpenSCADA is no exception and provides maximum security in all relevant system layers while providing great flexibility at the same time.

The stability of the system is of course the most important issue. High stability is ensured by OpenSCADA® and SASS Process used as redundant solutions, respectively.

To protect the system from unauthorized internet access, there is a secure authentification mechanism. Data is encrypted and therefore tranferred safely. Logging of input is as reliable and secure as it is for automatically generated data, e.g. for billing.

Additionally, OpenSCADA® provides a multi-layered alarm system to indicate possible problems at an early stage. Customer specific consistency checks of the data can be defined flexiblly and trigger alarms.
